Act 6.0.3.979 sync problems

we're running act 6.0.3.979 on XP pro and are having problems doing a sync via email.

this has run fine in the past, but within the last month, i have not been able to send updates,

only recieve.  no hardware or software changes have been made to either machine, no updates/patches/etc.

 

when i try to send updates i get the message:

a message could not be send because of network problems.  the message has been saved to  your outbox folder and ACT! e-mail hs been placedin offline mode.

 

network problems?  our network is running fine, connectivity to the 'net and my regular email is fine

(i only use act email for sync)

 

any suggestions?

That is most likely an email problem and not a sync problem. Have you tried sending an email massage from ACT! itself rather than through the sync process?
