ACT on VISTA

I have been using ACT 2000 forever on my XP machine at home, recently got a new Laptop running VISTA, must I upgrade to ACT 2008 and will the old contacts transfer over to the new release seamlessly ?  As always Microsofts policy of "If ain't broke,,,,,, fix it to be " rears its greedy head to bite you on your wallet

Re: ACT on VISTA

Hello,

You can convert 2000 (v6 i think) to 2008 (v10.0). Copy your database files fto a location on your Vista machine.

In ACT! 2008 go to File -> Open Database and choose 'Files of type' *.DBF. Open the ACT! 2000 dbf file and the conversion wizard will begin.

Re: ACT on VISTA

ACT! 2000 was 5.0

You'll have a better conversion if you get the trial of ACT! 6.0 from the knowledge base and do a Compress Reindex as well as a database repair with ACTDIAG before moving the database files to the new machine
