Hello all !
My apologies for placing this in the wrong place [I wish I knew how to post in the appropriate place but do not.]
I am running Act! 4.0.2 for windows English on an XP machine; I obviously bought the software a long time ago. Several days ago, the screen changed. I tried to re-install the software, but I still get a shortened screen without for example company name and ID/status.
Is there anything I can do to restore the functionality of the database ?
Would an upgrade to the current software work under XP ?

ACT! 4 was developed for Windows 98 and never tested on XP so I have no idea what might be the cause of what you are see. The Current version ACT! 2011 is companible with XP.

What if I were to install on my XP machine the ACT by Sage 2010 ? Would the software be able to use the data of ACT 4.0.2 ? Please note that I avoid MS Outlook; in fact I have never used it.
Any help would indeed be appreciated.

I don't use Outlook either so that's no problem. Yes the data would convert to ACT! 2010 but to be safest download the trail version of ACT! 6 and convert you database first to ACT! 6 and then convert that to ACT 2010.

Mr. Laudenslager: I must have checked a different layout, and God knows what I had on instead of my usual Contact Layout 4, which I am used to and has all the data needed. Sorry about that !Maybe there is still life in this old software.
