Exporting and importing will lose History/Notes/etc unless you use a couple of add-ons.

I can't recall with ACT! 6.0 if this keeps the Record Manager or updates it, but you could try:
Create new database - File | Save | Save Empty Copy
Then, from the new database, import the old one.

Would you know what those plugins would be -- definitely need to keep the notes and histories.

 

Is another option to export the database into csv file and then import the csv data into  a new database -- but am not sure what the steps would be and how to make the old records be listed under a new record creator and new record manager.
