ACT! 5.0 Application has stopped working

This is the first time I've ever had this error message.  I desperately need to access my customer information.  Anyone have an idea how I can get this working???

It's hard to know without seeing it.  Try opening the ACT demo database by browsing you computer outside of ACT and finding the act demo .dbf file. This may allow you to circumvvent the issue if it is your database.

 

If you still need assistance, many act consultants can help with this. As this version of the software is very old, it may be time to consider upgrading (you are 8 versions out of date).  This may also help you once you get the initial problem fixed.

Just ran into the same thing on ACT! 6.0 client. Manual Remove and Reinstall worked.

Before you install the 6.03 update, verify you need it first. My client had the full install on their CD.
