I am trying to convert an ACT!2000 database to ACT!2013, and have run into the, "pre7actdb.adb file is being used by another process. From what I have read in this forum, the problem might be solved by doing some maintenance on my ACT2000 database. When I try to compress/reindex or remove any old items listed under the Data Clean-up Tab, I get the warning message, "You may not have enough disk space. If network drive is not mapped..."..
I have plenty of free disk space (162 GB).
Does anyone have advice on how to overcome these issues?

known issue with that older version of ACT!.
Best bet is to the reindex on an older operating system (like windows 2000) if you have access to one.
Or, you can try upgrading to ACT! 6, and then running the db repair and clean up.
Or, you can contact a Certified ACT! Consultant in your area to do this work for you.
