Hi
I have been undble to open my 2011 database. I have over 5000 contacts. I do not save attachments.
The database has been regulary compressed etc.
Is there a physical size limit on the database?
This one wont respond.
Im using W7 (64b)
Cheers

It is unlikely that it is a file size issue. Try running Windows Update and rebooting a few times and see if it will let you back in. With 5000 Contacts your database is probably a few hundred megabytes and with that version of Act! you can have four gigabytes of data.

Has anyone seen this? Cant access it and cant tick for sharing. Just did it by itself. In the the software has simply "unticked".
Anyone got a solution?

I've seen it several times when the Windows UAC is active and you aren't running ACT! as administrator. Close ACT! and relaunch by right clicking on the icon and choosing Run as Administrator from the context menu.
For the future, you posted this on the old ACT! 6 board which few people monitor. there are boards for ACT! version 2005 (7) and later.

Thanks Roy.
Yep that fixed it. For some reason Windows increased my UAC settings or Act worked with them and for some time then just stopped working.
Sorry I posted on worng board. Good you are keeping an eye out!

I've seen Windows updates reset the UAC, especially on Vista and early Windows 7.
