web user gets javascript error if looking up a record that doesn't exist yet.

For example, there is no person with last name smith in the database.  When she does Lookup-Last Name- Smith.  She does not get a screen saying 0 results, she gets javascript error.

Thanks.  Note I just tried to recreate error.  I have IE 6 and I didn't have the problem.

Hello,

I am using ACT! Premium for Web v11.01. I just did the Microsoft windows update which including updating to IE 8. Now everytime I do a Lookup and start typing in the value, I get a javascript error. See below.

Line: 506
Char: 34
Error: Object required
Code: 0
URL: .../APFW/Lookups/LookupsDialog.aspx?menu=TBL_CONTACT.COMPANYNAME

Not sure how to fix this.

Thanks for your time.

I found a work around for those who have IE 8. Log into ACT for Web and press on the "Compatibily View" located next to the address bar. With this option on, the javascript errors are gone.
