updating laptops without coming into the building

We currently have about 16 laptops in the field. We are on Premium for workgroups 2008 10.0.

I may need to upgrade to 10.1 . In the past , I have upgraded the server. created new remotes

then have the  people with the laptops come in. I apply the software to the laptops. Unpack the

remotes and synch the databases.

Is there any other way that is less cumbersome for me and doesn't require the users to come for minor
upgrades like this??

thanks

I do this all day long with remote control software.

BTW cutting new remotes is an unecesesary step

Re: updating laptops without coming into the building

we use remote software when the laptop user comes into a remote office site and can log onto the
network.

However a lot of these users only have dsl or dial up in their homes. on big upgrades it takes to long
if they don't come in to the office.

Under what circumstances do you create a remote database? I mainly use remotes when a new user
starts or hasn't transferred in a while.

I use a remote solution from GoToAssist.com, it can support eight seperate sessions at a time (on port 80) allowing for a great deal of productivity in the remote model. High speed internet is a base requirement.

I only cut remotes for new users, or where a user ceases to be able to sync for a myriad of reasons
