universal search

i am searching attachments as described here:

sample.txt, sample .bmp no problem

 

i am attaching however folder and file "LINKS"

 

ie: sample.lnk or folder.lnk

when i click on these links via document tab they are working

 

when I seach for them they do  not show up via universal search tried

"sample.lnk"

sample

sample.*

no search results

 

in addition it was a bit unclear how to do a "*" search for any or data

so checking "*" and "Activities" displayes all contacts with scheduled activities.

how do i filter out a group ie: "database users"

for group searches to validate
contacts must be assigned to a group structure
ie: group billable->sub-group annual

If you have the contacts in the list view, customize columns and add the field "is user" and then sort by that column.

Click on the first one to select, and then shift click on the last one and click lookup selected.

That should do it for you.
