suggestions for card scanner?

[ Edited ]

Does anyone have any recommendations for a business card scanner package that will load into ACT! Premium 2008 automatically?  I'm looking at replacing the CardScan Executive that we have, and might as well look at all equipment options, as well as the CRM software that CardScan bundles for ACT.

(And it would also have to be able to scan the data to Outlook as well as to ACT for those in the office who refuse to use ACT)

Here's another option to look at - http://www.crmaddon.us/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=15

You could use the same hardware for ACT! and Outlook... but would require different software

Re: suggestions for card scanner?

I am curious why CardScan is not working for you.  We use it in our company and it works great.  One of the best features of CardScan is their online service to keep contact information up to date.

When a contact updates their data online and the updated contact informaition comes back, it is only a single button press to update the information in Act!.

If you are sharing the Act! database between many users then having one person in the company put in the acquired business cards and pressing the transfer button in CardScan will update all users the next time they sync.

As for the Outlook issue, the answer depends if you are using Exchange or not.  If the contacts are stored in an individual's PST then it would requied each individual to have their own CardScan.

Good luck.
