subscriber to main database

I had to format my hard drive on my main computer and ended up saving the wrong act database.  After restoring, I now have two with subscriber sync role status, so cannot sync.  Is there a way to change one to "main" so "accept incoming syncs" will activate?

No
You can import data from one of the databases and reset-up sync

You can use one of them as a master, but you must recut all remote databases. IF there is data in the second database that is "orphaned" you would need to do an import before creating a new remote.

So if I disable sync on the database I have been maintaining (that was the remote), I can establish it as the main and go from there?

No, a sync database must be created from the "mother ship" master database. You can't take disparate databases and have them start syncing. You would need to import all into the mother ship and then make sync databases from there.
