sharing the pad file of an rdb

We're a small company and we recently installed ACT.  I work from a remote location in a different state.   I'm a remote user and the main dbase and my database have synced up just fine (lol...after lots of struggles).  Yes, we have two licenses.

When we first got ACT and before we were synced, I was playing around and was able to share the same database in two different locations in my home by placing the pad file in another computer in my network.    This worked great because I'd rather work wirelessly but sync and ping so much better from the cabled LAN computer.

Once we got serious and set up the sync service, the pad file created by the rdb file has the "sharing database" option greyed out.    I'd like that "ungreyed" and go back to my initial configuration.   Any thoughts?

Hello JDelicata,

Welcome to the ACT! Online Community!

What version of ACT! are you running?

What is the operating system for your comptuer?

What is your user authority within ACT! (Admin, Manager, Standard..)?

If you are using either a Vista or Windows 7 operating system, try running ACT! 'As Administrator'.  To do this: close ACT! > right click on the ACT! icon > select 'Run As Administrator' > test.
