Is there any way to create a report or search for the records in a group (or just in the database) which have been changed in the last day (or whatever time period)?
Ideally, I'd like a report to kick out if there has been new history added, new note added, new opportunity added, etc.
possible? i assume so - but how?

bummer, i figured as much - i was hoping for something easier
i do have crystal reports already (it came with peachtree)
i suppose it's a huge PITA to get CR to talk to ACT?
maybe i should just get into the SDK

IT's not that hard. and certainly easier than the SDK. Give me a day or so, I'll put a how to video up at blog.acttrainer.com

YOu can actualy do it with the ACT! reports because you first create the lookup of the records that hve changed. You can do that using Lookup | Contact Activity.

by saying not really, do you mean not really with basic ACT?
has anybody else done it? with the SDK? or with some other third party software?
do you, roy, disagree that crystal reports can do it?

The not really come from it is possible to make fields history fields and the change would be captured that way. However, you wouldn't want to make all fields history fields. For synchronization purposes each change is time and date stamped somewhere but to my knowledge that information is only available internally for synchronization. In you case, the main difference between the ACT! reports and Crystal is that the filters could be built into the report itself while for the ACT! reports you would need to create the lookup in advance.
