No there is not, However, you could place security within the document itself. For example, all of microsoft Office allows you to password protect individual documents.

Utilizing Windows permissions and attached the document as a shortcut in ACT! might suffice. You would need a folder that was secured for access by yourself only under Windows permissions.

There is a backdoor way if you add a note and attach the document to the note and mark private.
That's innovative except not quite as secure as the attachment exists in the Attachments folder which is accessible if you know where and what to look for.
