Hello softly783,
What version of ACT! are you installing? If SQL is not installed, ACT! 2013 installs SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 Express. If SQL 2008 R2 is already there, then it skips the SQL install. You can then install SP1 from the Microsoft downloads site, although ACT! 2013 does not require this.

You should be able to go to the Microsoft download site and get SP1 for SQL Server 2008 R2 Express. If you want to be safe, and you have no other apps using SQL, then uninstall ACT!, uninstall SQL, the do the full install from the ACT! 2013 installation disk or download. This will install SQL with SP1.

Re: mssql express 10.50.2500.00

fyi

if you have trouble during new install or moving the db,

its likely to be permission issue

change the way the service logs on.

services-log on.........change from  "Network Service" to "local system account" leave password blank.

You can allways change this back later.

This allowed the AAct sample database to be installed on a preconfigured mssql instance.

i think there is also a kb by microsoft regarding this.
