internet sync

I am able to sync when ACT is running on the master database (publisher); but not when act is shut down.

I expected not to have to keep ACT running 24/7 on the network server?

Re: internet sync

You probably have "Accept Incoming Syncs" checked on the master server.  (Tools | Syncrononize| Accept Incoming Syncs)  By checking that box you are putting the server into "Application Sync" mode.  Application Sync means the server must have ACT open to sync.  It sounds like what you want is the Network Sync service, which allows anyone to sync as long as the server is powered on.

You can install ACT Network sync service from the ACT CD.  Once installed you have to choose your master database that you would like to sync.

Good luck,
