this issue is with all the computers in our ofice.
We are importing data since months.
when we try to import these fields of csv :
Contact| Company | Phone | Mobile | Email | Website | State| Country| Satus/ ID| Referred by |
Robin | KFC | 123 | 2334 | firstname.lastname@example.org | a.com | CA | USA | Client | Ny Times |
we succefully import all contact fields
we cannot get the contact name that is ROBIN???
we get rest all her details but not her contact name?
This is very unusual? this never happened before. Can anyone please help.
Thanks in advance

thanks you for your reply, i donot maintain first name and second name
i put them in Contacts only
eg Robin Smith
so in my excel sheet i have Robin Smith as contact and when i import the file
i set the sync of Contact(excel Sheet) and contact (of Act)
i even preview the matches by clicking next....next....next.... it shows the name Robin Smith in the preview box
but i just doesnt import in the actual contact list!!!!
i hope i made you understand my problem... if you need any further details please let me know...
i am in a real trouble

I've had the same issue and this workaround worked for me.

your reply helped us spot the issue, thank you Ben
i want to Match Records On : emails and then on as none
and the enable duplicate checking in the database is checked in my database
so will this be an issue
Act doesnt not understand similarity logic thats well
eg John Smith and John Smith Designing will be considered as two different names....
however their emails are same, eg email@example.com will be same in both the contacts, so we can succefully identify the duplicates, contatcs is just not working well for us...
