how to move same remote database between 2 machines and still sync?

Need a sync expert....

We have a remote user that uses 2 machines, a desktop in the office, and a laptop when travelling a few days each month.

Prior to syncing, he had his own database and moved it back and forth between the 2 machines...

Sent him a rdb fileon his desktop that he got to sync. He then backed this up to his laptop, did a restore as with a different name, used the database (with no sync), backuped, and restored back to the desktop. Sync is grey’d out. I am assuming this is because he changed the name.

However, I want to find out the best process to accomplish what he wants. 1) can it be done, 2) what steps to follow if it can.

Thanks for all the help

Can't do this...you need to create two separate RDBs from the server.  Each machine gets its own RDB.

Mike, thanks for the quick reply. so each one just syncs up and back and the user has to make sure to sync the machine before using it to get the latest greatest?

Correct....create an Rdb called JohnDesktop and JohnLaptop for example.  They can use the same sync sets.  Then, you may want to set the Act Scheduler to synchronize every hour for both.   However, encourage the user to manually synchronize a few times a day as well.
