failed to create remote database. Directory not empty...

or words to that effect.

My remote database was mangled by syncing with a Palm Treo so I went to create a new one. However I keep getting an error "Failed to create remote database directory not empty" despite trying to create the remote db in a new directory on the hard drive of the host computer. I can unpack the *.rdb file to the remote computer but when I try to synchronise then I get the message "server error description. Remote database is unavailable. Please check if the remote database was deleted. Contact your administrator for assistance".

Unfortunately I am the administrator and having tried several different things am lost for ideas.

Any help out there?

Stephen

Finally Man Mad I have succeeded and here's how.

Switched off database maintenance > Share database.

Then remember to switch "share database" back on so my colleagues could access the main database.Man Very Happy

I hope you never have this issue but if you do that this works for you.
