documents tab shows giant red X after sync

After syncing this morning, I am having trouble accessing attached documents on the documents tab. instead of a list of documents that have been previously attached to a contact, a large red X is all that is seen on the tab. Any idea what causes this?

Apparently the restart of the computer did the job. Thanks!
