Re: custom shortcut "startup"

That error is usually caused by a lack of permissions to the database supplemental files folder.

BTW: Why not just call the PAD file:
"C:\Documents and Settings\<User_Name>\My Documents\ACT\ACT Data\Databases\ACT2013Demo.pad"
Change for it's location ...

Re: custom shortcut "startup"

i have tried this but it will not auto login

"path.2.folder\ACT\ACT Data\Databases\ACT2013Demo.pad" /userid "Chris Huffman" /password

note

that i want to specify database "ACT2013Demo

login with Chris Huffman

using no password

all self contained in the shortcut

do not want to do anything else but click on the shortcut to launch the app and be logged in

thanks inadvance

Re: custom shortcut "startup"

Like I said, the only time I've seen that error was with permissions of the supplemental files folder. But I haven't tried the type of login your using.

Where did you get those parameters from?

Are these multi-user or single user databases?

Re: custom shortcut "startup"

its multi user and the parameters work with another similar crm product

i think editing the pad file is the way to go which i currently am testing

Re: custom shortcut "startup"

currently testing a variation of this pad file

"<?xml version="1.0" standalone="no"?>
<!DOCTYPE ACTDatabasePADFile>
<!--This file represents a Pointer to an Act Database or [PAD]-->
<ACTDatabase name="demo1" userid="demo1" password="demo1" host="." location="path.2.folder\ACT\ACT Data\Databases\demo1" type="Sql" />"

so far no psitive results

changed

userid-user

host-.,localhost,127.0.01 etc

i think its only a matter of finding the right terminalogy for the cypher session

and yes its a security compromised but i like it for testing purposes in a controlled enviroment such as vmware, sandbox etc
