Trying to import a csv file to add contacts quicker and easier from a webform, and the db won't take them. I tried making a new db, and I get the same odd error.
the error is "could not load file or assembly Act.Framework.DataExchange.OutlookSync etc etc ver 12.0.409

thanks again for the help
as a last try before going home, i searched in act KB, and i swear this wasn't there before
anyway, this worked for me:
i had thought i should disabled duplicate checking, but it turns out that i needed to enable it, in a certain way:

How are you trying to do the import?

thanks for the quick response
i'm going File/Import/textfile/map i developed
is that what you mean?
it goes through the process, then 1 second later, that error

What do you mean "you developed"?
You mean it's a custom map?
Have you tried with a defaul map or the demo database?
You might also have a look at:

"developed" was a bit lofty on my part, sorry - yes it's a custom map
when i do the default map, i don't get the error, but i also don't get the upload
i switched off the duplicate checking
i get the same error with the demo db
doesn't the error seem odd? outlook.sync?

Ahhh... developed, I had assumed was with the SDK.
Can you try updating to 12.1 and see if that helps?

If you want a reliable import from webforms, you'd be best doing it via the SDK... or to use one of the add-on products to do it for you.
But yes, I'd definately go with 12.1 HF2... problem or not, it's a better build. Only think, if running a shared database, all systems need to be upgraded

certainly, we'll assume an upgrade would be better
and we can assume that using the SDK would also be better for a specific solution
but shouldn't ACT be able to import as it says it will?
i exported a record and changed just the account number, and when i imported it, no error, but no import either
thanks again for your time
