I'm trying to access Premium ACT 2011 via OLEDB or ODBC so I can export notes and history, and I keep getting- Act Data Link Error Invalid/Inactive Username and Password.
I've tried this with excel, magic DB and Open office Base, same results.
I've verified the username and password are right.
I rebooted the server to make sure noone else was in there while I tried it.
I went to ACTdiag on the server and it says Unlocked.

it's local as in on the same LAN, but I didn't try on the server itself (because in this forum, a helpful poster said the data extraction only works on a workstation)
i can connect successfully to a test db in the same server/shared folder, etc

i tried this and still unable to connect
i don't know how to get reader, we have 2011 premium
any other ideas?

I have tried other logins, and I did follow the prescribed method.
Nothing worked until I restored a copy of the backup, called it something different in a different location on the server. Then, all is good.
Any ideas why?

we have a ton of customized fields, is that what you mean?
so what should i do with the original DB - is there some danger there if there is corruption?
