act desktop version no longer working following a windows 10 update

tried starting my act premium ( latest version) on my pc ( remote version)  and the following message appears see attached. cloud based working fine.

This could be down to a number of things and is a fairly common error message with Act.

 

Please see following article and just work through the steps which relate to your environment. (shared / local database)

This could be down to a number of things and is a fairly common error message with Act.

thanks identified the problem and fixed it SQL server was disabled...

That's good. Probably the easiest one out the list to action. 

 

If you find this happens every time you boot computer up and you have to manually start the SQL service every time let me know as there is a batch file you can drop into your windows start up folders which ensures it loads on Windows start up.

This did happen for a short while when Windows 10 first came out and those problems seem to have been fixed now as not had any of our customers report this issue for a while now.
