The company I'm working for recently purchased an SBS 2011 Essentials box and wants to relocate their central ACT database to it. In the process of installing, the task always fails during the SQL Database installation. Reading the log says that the SA password didn't meet the requirements necessary. I installed the database manually, but when ACT went about connecting in to add all it's standard accounts, all of their passwords didn't mee the requirements either (verified by viewing Event Viewer and by running the SecurityCmdApp.exe from cmd prompt).
The essentials box is tied to an Office 365 account, thus the domain is set for strong password complexity. I'm unable to change this policy, but nor do I think I should have to.
What steps can I perform to make the ACT installation use strong passwords?
