Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit Gotcha - Network Sync

Just discovered that it is not possible to run network sync (ACT 2011 Premium SP2) on a PC running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit OS.

On first attempting to install Network Sync you get a Not Compatible with this Operating system.

KB22209 suggests the solution is to run the setup in XP Compatibility Mode.

When you do this you find it still won't run because Windows XP 64-Bit OS is not Supported by Sage ACT!

Gotcha!

Is this major limitation, that Network Sync won't run on Windows 7 Home Premium, documented anywhere?

How can you state that ACT 2011 is compatible with Windows 7 when some out-of-the-box components clearly are not?

Hello Adapter0086,

Welcome to the ACT! Online Community!

A work-around has been produced to allow Network Sync to be installed manually.  Instructions can be found in the following article: KB Article 27402
