I started my computer one hour ago and have not started Act! but started the Activity handler in Windows and find that Act.Server.Host is using between 45 and 55% of the CPU.
There is almost no disch activity.
I am using Act! Premium Plus v21.0.295.0 Update 5

The Act.Server.Host.exe is a service that is installed unconditionally with every ACT! installation. The Service provides a "shadow" database for each DB it finds on an machine locally. It creates HUUGE indices on your System disk. If you do not use the "Universal search" function (which you should never out of complicated reasons I won't explain here) and/or a mobile access to that PC with the HTML5-Smartphone client (this is NOT ACT! Companion, but an older functionality via mobile Web browser), disable the service.

Ok, so disabeling the Universal Search would solve this?

YES, disabling the SERVICE will do.
