Where did my tabs go?

I have been using ACT! Premium for Workgroups 2007 since last fall.  It has been working fine.  Suddenly, this morning, I have no lower half of the Contact Detail page.  All the tabs for Activites, History, Notes, etc. are gone.  Using View History or View Notes commands moves the Contact Detail page to the bottom but does not show any information.  I have restarted my computer and have used the ACT! CD to "repair" but the problem is still there.  Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem please?

It is listed for Product Family 2006, but applies to 2007 as well.

Thanks to AJones.  That bit of advice was just what I needed.  I had changed the screen resolution.  I never inagined that small change would have such a large effect on ACT!  I had searched the kb before leaving my message but I missed that one.  Thanks again!!

Okay, that's the solution for 2006 and 2007.

 

What about 2010?

 

Another question that you may or may not want to reply to.

 

Why is it that this worked with no issues. Nothing was changed on my side such as operating system (Windows 7), preferences in Windows 7, anything to do with ACT! 2010, but then this type of thing happens?

The KB article should also work for 2010 as well. In answer to your question, this contact view preferences could become corrupted by your graphics settings, specifically having a DPI setting higher than 96 or if you have hardware acceleration set to the highest setting.

Okay.

 

I tried that and after a while, I got to the file I think I need, which is USpreferences206.xml

 

I opened it up through the Web (it wouldn't let me open it up any other way).

 

Here's what I got.

 

Nothing there about CDATA[200] anywhere.

I am beyond frustrated with this issue and have been working on this since 11am this morning, not help from Sage. PLEASE.... my contacts and notes were fine over the last few years. All of a sudden today, I have no notes, history or any of those tabs on the bottom of the screen beneath my contacts.... that link that the person recommended below - no longer works. I probably have changed way to much at this point; but any help from the start would be greatly appreciated before I throw my entire computer out the window. Thanks.

I fixed it myself - almost 8 hours later. Moving to salesforce, forget ACT!
