Weird Rendering Issues with ACT! and Citrix XenApp

Hi All,

 

Does anyone else have weird rendering / minimizing issues with ACT! and Citrix.  Specifically ACT! 2012 and Citrix XenApp 6.5

 

Using published apps, everything works fine until you start ACT! - from then on, when you click on the Windows task bar to switch applications, the application you click on doesn't come to the foreground until you minimize any open windows in front of it.  This only happens once you open up ACT! during your session, and then even if you close ACT! it still behaves this way until you close your session and log back in.  Then it's fine until you open ACT! up.

 

Steps:

1. Log on to Citrix via your browser

2.  Start Word, Outlook, and notepad.

3.  Switch applications by clicking the taskbar and everything behaves.

4.  Start ACT! 2012 Premium

5.  Try to switch applications by clicking the taskbar and...

 

Expected behaviour: the application you clicked on comes to the foreground

Actual behaviour: the application doesn't show up until you minimize anything in front of it

Hi Len I'm not sure I have seen the exact same behavior, but it might be. I hadn't thought that it might be a function of act and Citrix but I have seen it.
I have also seen this with quotewerks in non-Citrix environments and frankly was kind of surprised when I saw it start to appear with ACT!

The workaround for me was to press alt tab until the Sage ACT! logo popped up, and then tap the space bar. That brought up the the shortcut menu. From there I was able to choose maximize

Thanks Jon - ACT! is maximized and it's still doing this.  Support said they can't reproduce but have resolved it before by changing XenApp to 16-bit color, so they're trying that out today.

Let me know if you want to test in our Citrix environment.  Also, we are planning moving to 6.5 shortly. would like to know if hte issues is related to that version. We are running 5.0 and 6.o now.

Did anybody find a solution to this problem? I have the EXACT same problem and an unhappy customer.
