Was testing act 2011 and it touched my 2010 database!

I was testing the 2011 demo and I had a copy of my 2010 database.  When it loaded it automatically pulled up my original PAD file but i backed out of it and repointed it to my database copy on my local drive.  I pointed it to the database file.  That file failed to update but when I opened my 2010 on another workstation  it said it got  updated and I need a newer version of Act!

What now I didnt try to update anything on my 2010 database.  I did remove 2010 from the machine I installed 2011 on.

Hello cbs2010,
Just to clarify, did you say that you open a copy of your 2010 database in ACT! 2011? Is your actual 2010 database a shared database on a server?

The oroignal that was NOT to be tested is shared.  I disconnected it and made a copy for me to test 2011

Re: Was testing act 2011 and it touched my 2010 database!

It sounds like you uninstalled 2010, then reinstalled a lower build of 2010. For instance, you had ACT! 2010 (12.1.181) installed, then when you reinstalled you used ACT! 2010 (12.0.409.0), which is a lower build. You can verify this by going to Help>About ACT! in the program. So for the machine that you uninstalled then reinstalled 2010 on, you will simply need to apply the 12.1 update to get it up to the same version as your database. You can find information for this update in KB Article 25927.
