Want to Remove all ACTIVITIES and TASKS

I'm still figuring out how to set up ACT and I've imported stuff from OUTLOOK. I'm OK with how it imported the contacts but the activities and tasks didn't come in right - they were all associated with me - not the person they should be.

I'd like to remove all the activities and tasks. is there an easy way to do that?

If not I'm OK starting from scratch. Should I just make a new database? can I then delete the old one?

Re: Want to Remove all ACTIVITIES and TASKS

Delete the tasks from the Task List.  The reason they came in this way is that is how they are storled in Outlook. Outlook is a personal information manager (as are most PDA's).  Everything is me-centric.  ACT is contact centric.

I"d just delete the offending tasks assuming the contacts came in properly.  Reimporting will likely yield the same results.

The easy way to delete all the activities is to View | Task List.
Then use to filter to make sure you have all types selected
Highlight them all and Delete | Erase

Thanks Mike - that was exactly what I was looking for.

Re: Want to Remove all ACTIVITIES and TASKS

I spoke too soon. That got rid of all of them except the ones that seem to be recurring events - birthdays and some others. When I delete them they don't seem to go away so I guess I'm not deleting all the instances of them.

I have to right click on each of them and select ERASE ACTIVITY then DELETE ALL OCCURENCES one at a time.

Recurring takes a few passes at it.  Just keep going, you'll get them all.

Re: Want to Remove all ACTIVITIES and TASKS

All that does is erase the individual activity not the recurring activities they just reset them selves for the next time, and if its ticked as no end date you will just keep going

Selecting the tasks (including recuring) and choosing delete on your keyboard will eventually delete them all.
