V18 - Poor Demo database

The demo database is not only to prove that Act! works, also it is to give training to new users, and it is a test environment to perform procedures before do that in the production database...  But...  With 28 contacts, no activities or opportunities...

Suggestion: new version of Act! must be accompanied by a demo database with a  responsable-number  of contacts, activities updated and Business Opportunities.

Best regards,

Re: V18 - Poor Demo database

In training or database testing may need to change ( several or many ) data on the of contacts, and I do not want to create a problem to my customer ... Trust me. :-)

What I did was take a copy of the V16 database and restore it on my  V18, this database has more information.

Thank you.

Re: V18 - Poor Demo database

This is a major problem with the new 18.1 which when downloaded and installed has this rubbish demo db.

What's happened with the original one we have been using for years?

Re: V18 - Poor Demo database

I totally agree with comments about the new demo database but the best training you can give is on a copy of the clients own data with real day to day requirements of their business.

Re: V18 - Poor Demo database

Glad that works for you. I of course was advocating a COPY of the clients database - never a live database.

Re: V18 - Poor Demo database

I agree for any training to use a copy of the client's own database but when demoing to a prospect you need to use the Act! demo.
