Using outgoing Email by way of my provider

I have tried sending email using my email address and nothing goes out but emails come in from my server.

Are you using Outlook or the ACT email client?  If the ACT email client, check your outgoing mail server settings. Also, check the port that your isp uses to send email.  The ACT email client uses port 25 and this is not configurable.
