One of our clients is upgrading to Act! Premium v17 from Act! Premium 2010.
They Currently use SQL Server 2005 Standard.
They need to upgrade their version of SQL Server to be able to do so.
My Questions are as follows:
1. SQL Server 2014 Express is listed as compatible here: Act! Compatibility Matrix the Standard verison is not listed, would it be expected to work? or would they need to get SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard?
2. SQL Server can be licensed as either per Core, or as the Server+Licenses for each user. I have spoken with switpage support who stated that yes they can go the Server+CAL Licensing option, however I am not confident of their advice. Has anyone used SQL Standard in the Server+CAL licensing arrangement with Act!? how many users did they need to license for?
Any insight that can be provided on this is greatly appreciated.

To put an answer to this thread,
I just wanted to let everyone know that we went with Server Licensing, and purchased 1 user.
this is working fine for our client.
