Using Local E-mail with a Remote Database

Hello all.  This is my first post on the formus.  Here is my issue.  I am trying to set up ACT on a server using 2X application server client for remote access.  What I would like to do is use my local Outlook for my e-mail client.  Does anyone know if this is at all possible?  If so, how?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Paul.

Re: Using Local E-mail with a Remote Database

If you have a remote database, you have a local copy of the database on your computer.

If you are accessing a server that is hosting a database, that is not a remote database.  To have your Outlook emails logged from your local computer to the server, you will need to be using ACT! for Web.  This does have the Outlook Add-ins to integrate the Address Book.

Re: Using Local E-mail with a Remote Database

You are correct, I am accessing a server hosting the database (as well as ACT).  Are you saying there is no way to use outlook with ACT Premium using a "remote host" like citrix?

If I have to use the Internet E-mail option (or outlook express), why does it not fill in the "To" field when I click a contacts e-mail address?
