Upgrade ACT SP2 - no permission to update db Needs Administrator help

Dear ACT community,

Our company just upgraded ACT to SP-2.  However, after the upgrade installed a message popped up regarding "The database needs to be updated to a newer version.  You do not have appropriate permission.  etc contact administrator.

So, if this is a simple upgrade of the software, what can we do to get the individuals access to their database?

You need to log in as an Administrator of the database to perform these changes. Then the other users can log back in.

I am confused. If they are remote, how do I log in as Admin. When they log into their computers, they are the admin for their computer.

Do I need to give them admin access. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of security?
