Uninstalling and reinstalling Act

In my ongoing efforts to get Act and Outlook 2016 to talk to each other, I am going to uninstall Act completely and reinstall it from scratch.

I have some saved layouts and some copies of saved emails from back when Act and Outlook were working properly together.

Other than backing up the PAD file before uninstallng, what other files should I save? Should I just leave the entire Act Data file (stored in the Documents directory) intact and uninstall the program? Anything else I should be aware of?

Thanks

Re: Uninstalling and reinstalling Act

Creating a datbase backup

Do for each database if have more than one:

  1. Login to your database as an Administrator or a Manager level Act! User
  2. Click File > Back Up > Database…
  3. Click Browse…, then browse to the location you wish to save the backup to
  4. Give the file a new name (if desired), then click Save
  5. Check include attachments
  6. Decide whether you wish to password protect the database backup file - better to leave blank
  7. Click OK to begin backing up the following items into a .ZIP file:
    • The Database
    • Attached Documents (if included in step 5)
    • Layouts
    • Document Templates
    • Report Templates
    • Saved Queries
  8. Once the backup completes and the confirmation window appears, click OK to complete the backup process

Re: Uninstalling and reinstalling Act

Update:

I uninstalled Act using the Control Panel function. I rebooted and reinstalled. Now it is working the way it is supposed to.

Thanks to everyone who offered their suggestions!
