Track changes on currency field not working

With the current latest version Act 18.2.53.0 Update 4, it is impossible to track changes on a currency field. Changes made  in "Track changes to this field's value" are not saved for a currency field.

Was this working for you before in a previous version or are you a new user.

Have checked on same release (UK) version 18.2.53.0, Update 4 and it is creating history if marked to do so.

 

Can you try creating anew currency field in the ACT demo database with create history ticked and see if that works?

Just a thought - where are you having the problem, a normal currency field in contacts etc or the calculating systems currency fields in opportunities?

Haven't tried it in the previous version, but i figured out how you can reproduce it. It was an existing field "character type" that was converted to a currency field.

 

Create a new field with data type "character" with default value empty.  Convert it to a currency field with default value 0 and check the generate history box. The only thing that happened is the field type has changed from character to currency.  Default value is back to empty and the generate history did not get checked.

Can you try again without setting a default value?

This works for the newly created field. But with the fields that we have from the past this does not work. We cannot even remove the default value in that field (which is 0)

Spoke to soon. We need the default value to be 0 because of our plugins use this field to do calculations.

Seems strange that you cannot have a currency field with default value set to zero and have the track changes turned  on.

This does look like a bug.

We are now aware of an issue where the generate history feature option is not functioning for currency fields in opportunities. This has been logged as Defect D-05190.
