Using the following:
Database is on win server 2008 box
Even though e-mail sync has been configured we intermittently get "The e-mail system has not been set up. This e-mail system must be set up before you can send or receive e-mail messages. Would you like to set up an e-mail system now"
Restarting ACT doesn't resolve the problem. The only way around this is to setup the e-mail system again. ACT can run fine for a few days but inevitably we get the same message which requires the email setup all over again.
Does anyone know what could be causing this?
I have tried the following:
Deleted remaining ACT files such as the files located in %appdata%
I've ran out of options, I'm not sure what to try next.
Outlook never loses the ACT address book or addons even when the above message is displayed.
Any help is much appreciated.

You did not disclose your full version of ACT!? Have you applied all of your updates MANUALLY? Hot fixes, etc..?
Reference the ACT! Download Center at https://www.act.com/resources/downloads
After insuring that your ACT! updates are fully current, if you still have issue,
Recommend you backup your act db
and then Start / Run / Actdiag
Select desired db and run the db rebuild options.
