On a laptop with a remote database, I sporadically receive the following warning at the end of what appears to be a successful sync process:
The Channel "Sync Client" is not registered with remoting services. Contact your administrator for assistance.
The laptop has synced properly in the past, both internally and externally.

I usually see this message after there has been a database modification (new field added, etc..). You can usually just run database maintenance on both databases and sync again.
