Synchronization with Outlook suddenly stops working.

Act! 18.1 - My scheduled Act! synchronization with Outlook calendar and contacts stops working on my local PC when I have Act! Scheduler set to run either a backup or maintenance scheduled to run at a specified date and time. The error message reads "Act! Integration Service has Stopped Working and will close." This error has been going on since v17 and maybe in the previous version, I can't remember. Any ideas?

Do manual synchronizations with Outlook still work?
Do the scheduled backups/maintenance run okay?

How frequently have you set Outlook to sync? I'm wondering if there is a point where the backup service is running simultaneously and not allowing Outlook to sync, resulting in this error.

It's set to sync Monday - Friday @ 10:00pm. both auto backup and maintenance are set to run on Saturday.

Just for clarity is this a new 18.1 installation or did your patch from 18.0?

If it was originally an earlier version prior to 18.1 did this work OK?

This is a clean install of v18.1. It didn't work on v18 or v17 either

I've put in a request for this to be tested in a similar scenario to yours. This may take a few days. I'll post an update with our findings once complete.

Thank you Gary. It sometimes happens in a short period of time, but sometimes it takes a day or so to stop working.

We've not managed to replicate the issue though our testing. The syncs continued to work as expected. This would suggest there is something unique in your environment that is causing this issue.

What do you normally have to do in order to get it working again?
