Hi All,
There are 2 of us sat in the same office, both running remote copies. We are both set to sync every hour (and it runs successfully each time).
However, if i change a recoird and then sync, and my partner then syncs, quite often the new edit/cchange doesnt get passed over. Quite often, it can take quite a few hours or even overnight before the copies seem to be bought back in line with each other.
What can be causing this ?

There is a refresh option, (F5) or Edit, Refresh.
Do a little test
Have your partner make a change, then sync.
Wait a couple minutes. then choose F5 and look for the change?
I'm assuming you are just syncing to each other and that there is no middle server involved. If you have a server, he will need to sync, then you sync, then refresh.

Thanks very much for the reply...
We sync to the remote server.... i presumed that when i sync, it sends and receives all of the new 'stuff' and updates the server.... then when my colleague syncs, again all of the new stuff is sent and retreived.... so why would the server need to sync ? We both are set to sync every hour...

Not necessarily. All the data that has been saved to the database will be synced. However when you enter data on the screen that's not saved to the database until you do a refresh or ,move to a different record.

Try syncing manually, go to tools sync and sync now. Does it complete sucessfully?
based on your statement, a few things may be going on.
1) the sync scheduler may not be working
2) sync may be broken
3) you haven't refreshed your database
4) only one of you may be syncing.
you have to follow the trail and the first step is to vefiry that is syncs manually before relying on it to sync automatically. Does that make sense?
