Sync new fields

Running 2011 Premium in a workup sync. If I add new drop down list to the contact detail view, and also add some columns in the opportunities tab, does each client need a new Remote Database or will they pick these up on the sync?

Dropdown list yes, opportunity tab columns no they are computer level settings for each user

In other words - the column settings are not "syncable" - and cutting a new remote won't matter.
