Sync Issues with remote db - ACT 11.0

We had an issue with the master db and fixed the problem, however it affected 45,000 contacts.  I was able to sync and one other individual was able to sync.  Since then I have not been able to sync and two of the other uses have not been able to either.  Below is the sync log.  As you can see, it makes connect, it looks like it completes the database config process (second line of bars) and then stops.  Any recommendations to fix?

Re: Sync Issues with remote db - ACT 11.0

When you say it "stops"... does the sync process end or just look like it's stuck?

Is this Application sync, or Network/Internet sync service?

Are you doing this on a LAN or the internet?

It's a lot of data you're sending... and it might be a timeout issue. Might be easier to do a Compress/Reindex on the master and then cut new RDB files for the remotes

Re: Sync Issues with remote db - ACT 11.0

Mike,  I looks like it is stuck.  When I cancel it says that it is still working.  After an hour the sync log will show that it timed out. I beleive we are using a network sync service.  We have 4 remote users.  Two of them have successfully sync'd.  I was one, however, not any more.  We thought about recreating remotes, but we do not want to loose the history for the last 3 days.

Yesterday during the day one of my remotes could not sync....it got hung up.  Later that evening after rebooting the server and with everyone else off, she was able to sync.  This morning, before the rest of the team began work, I rebooted my computer and the server and tried to sync....and it got hung up.  That is after I had already successfully sync'ed two days ago.  Log posted below

Re: Sync Issues with remote db - ACT 11.0

If you are using network sync you need to up the timeouts in act,framework,synchronization.service.exe.config in c:\program files\act\act for windows\act network sync. Make a copy of it first.

Don't forget to restart the service or reboot after you have made the change

Failing that, try re-cutting an RDB for one user and see if that works.

Re: Sync Issues with remote db - ACT 11.0

Mike,

Just a quick note again to say thanks.  I had to recreate new remotes and then export the data from the last sync date into the new remote.  It was time consuming but worked.

Re: Sync Issues with remote db - ACT 11.0

Yup... sending that much data via sync is likely to have issues with timing out and cutting a new RDB will be easier.

Glad it's working for you.
