Suprressing DETAIL Section on Report, for a Summary

Hi,

Is there a way to suppress the Detail Section of a report?

I have a custom report of my Contacts, with (sorted) Sections for "Lead Source" and "Status", with respective Count fields in the Section Footers.  This lets me see the breakdown of were all my Leads came from, and their Status.

The problem is that usually I ONLY want the Section Footer (total) sections to print, not the Detail record for each and every Contact Smiley Sad

Is there a way to suppress the Detail section?

(Sometimes I *might* want to print the Detail (Contacts) for certain Sections, so I'd prefer to not have to make all the Detail Section Fields visible/NotVisible when I want to switch from 'Sumarry mode' to 'Detail Mode'

Thanks

As you described it, no. Have you considered two versions of the report?

That's what I did.

Did a Save_As and called it Report_Summary, wherein id deleted all the fields in the Detail section and then collapsed the height of the Detail Section to zero.

It works.

I just thought it would be more 'elegant' to have something like   Detail.Visible = False

Oh well, this works just as well.

Thank you!
