I still cannot backup my databases at all. Please refer to my messages and your replies which stopped in Aug. I was not able to backup from ACT 2011 and it is no different now in ACT2013. This is very risky as I have no way to assure if I have anything really bad happen that I can go back to and start from last backup.
Secondly -- I cannot understand when I send an e-mail using Outlook that the attachment does not get added to the customer record. I was certain it did in th epast but please correct me if I am wrong. The message from the body of the e-mail goes to history but the attachment does not.
Please check and let me know but mostly concerned about not able to backup.

Had a quick look at one of your threads...
Have you tried this ACT! Knowledge Base article -
Note: After detaching the database in ACTDIAG, you move the ADF and ALF (not the Pad) and the DatabaseFiles folder to a new folder. I recommend c:\ACTData ... having databases under Users or Docs and Settings sometimes has permissions issues
Also, from something I read in the thread... DO NOT use the Outlook sync to then sync to a mobile phone. It will nearly always cause issues. I recommend looking at Handheld Contact (www.HandheldContact.com) if you want reliable phone sync

Thank you so much, this article was never mentioned before and it worked great. I now can do a Back up.
P.S. -- any idea about my E-Mails not posting to contacts name when I receieve an e-mail for a contact record or do I have to do something manually each time if I want to save it. I use Outlook 2007 as my e-mail send and receive.

I have had nothing but problems getting emails to attach. This has been on going since I installed 2012. No one seem to have good answers for those with this problem.

There can be a number of reasons why this isn't working properly.
If you haven't already looked at this KB Article with some possible solutions, please do so.

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.

I put the "High Importance" rule in there just so I could tell if it was running. I do get the High Importance indication on email sent/received from address in the APFW address book. Neither incoming or outgoing mail though is sent to the contacts History.
I have run through that page before. I'll try again to see what happens.
