Re: Scheduling Sync Challenges Act Premium 2008 V10

I assume this is just manual or did you change the clocks?
RemoteA, RemoteB, and the server are all in different time zones but we are talking about activity measured in days

"On remoteB userB looks at userA's schedule and the item has not rolled over"
the fact that it's ok when you logout/in makes me think it's a refresh issue
The only to get the correct data is to log in as userA to remoteB, this triggers the rollover action on remoteB

hehe getting myself confused

Try logging out and back in as B - did they roll over
Coming back in as B after the rollover action all is well

I can login/logout all day long as B with no result
I have to login to RemoteB as UserA to get the rollover event to start on remoteB, The rollover dialog box actually comes up

We should document and submit it... I'll retest it here to confirm it replicates first

Cool I'll do the same when I get some fresh data next week.

Re: Scheduling Sync Challenges Act Premium 2008 V10

Is my problem similar to yours?

We are having an issue with syncing Mike’s laptop to our server database.  Mike thinks perhaps it is not set up correctly.  The server database should be the governing database, yet when Mike sync’s up (via our LAN connection),  all of his appointments that we have cleared but he has not, reappear in the database.  Can you help us with this issue?

Thanks,

Re: Scheduling Sync Challenges Act Premium 2008 V10

This is the same problem I am having.

I tried to log in on my Laptop as a different user through out the entire week to see if that may trick the system and see how syncing with the 2 different users might work.

No such luck.

Still had good luck getting newly scheduled items to be on both the server (home computer) and remote (laptop).

The completed calls/to-do's/and so on were NOT completed and duplicated.

HOW DO WE FIX IT???????

Are you using ACT! 10.01?
Does Mike have ACT! set to roll-over activities?

Re: Scheduling Sync Challenges Act Premium 2008 V10

Great News:

I turn off the roll over commands for all type of activities and it seems that it stop duplicating activities on both data bases My server data base is called ReUse ACT Database and my laptop named mhenand6 ACT data base. I log in with the same name to either data base.

Will do more testing to see if rolling activities is the problem.

Re: Scheduling Sync Challenges Act Premium 2008 V10

If you are syncing where you are the user on both computers, automatic rollover of activities needs to be turned off. That was true with ACT! 6 and before and is still true with ACT! 2005 and later. It's an issue of what is the latest change to the activity. Auto Rollover caused a later event to be recorded for the activities so that the change that is brought in by the sync now is an older event and is discarded.
