SQL Server (ACT&) not starting automatically

ACT 2010 Premium

I stop SQL Server (ACT7) to backup all my files. Then, I power down my laptop.

This has worked flawlessly for a long time. Over the last 2-3 weeks, I find that SQL Server (ACT7) service is not starting AUTOMATICALLY when the laptop is powered up. This service "startup type" is set to "automatic".

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Re: SQL Server (ACT&) not starting automatically

Hello vaxa,

Check to see if you have any pending SQL updates that are attempting to install.  If you have a SQL update for SP3 pending, you can choose to hide the update so it doesn't attempt install.

Thanks,

Thank you!

I dont have anything pending updates - I cant recall seeing any specific updates for SQL.

I will say, however, I seem to have updates everyday!!!

Yes, I just saw that Security Update for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 (KB970892) failed to installed.

I didnt see this since I usually click to run the updates when I am shutting down.

Has anyone experience this - and - how did you get it to install?

Re: SQL Server (ACT&) not starting automatically

i went into the regedit but my value was already set to 0 except that hex was select not decimal - i tried selecting decimal but no luck.

in other words, this didnt make a difference.
