You're correct, ACT! internet e-mail only works with default smtp/pop3 ports.
As for another e-mail provider, that I'm not sure of. Are you looking for something thats free or a paid service?

I'm using ACT for Web Premium 2009 and trying to get the built in email system to work for clients connecting, but no matter what email setup they try in the settings it always comes back with "smtp server was not found" even when the smtp server uses the default ports. Is there something I am missing that needs to be setup on the server? I've tried using outside email accounts that do not require the firewall to be modified and I still get the same message??
